What conditions do you treat?

We treat the full spectrum of Psychiatric conditions.  Some common Psychiatric illnesses that most people know are Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar disorder, Insomnia, Panic, and ADD/ADHD.


Dementia and behavioral aspects of this illness from causes such as stroke, Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, or unknown cause are also conditions we manage. 


Various conditions can mimic these and other common illnesses.  An accurate diagnosis is key to proper treatment.  

What should I expect at my first visit?

At your first visit a complete review of your medical history will be completed.  Please bring a government issued picture ID.


Your physician will get to know you and what you would like help with.  A comprehensive treatment plan will be developed.   Lab work may be ordered at this time. 

Where are you located?

We are located at 249 East Main St., Suite A in Johnson City, TN.  We are down the street from Freiberg's/Capone's and the door to the right of Sister's At Law legal firm.

How often will I need to be seen?

This depends on how well you are doing and what level of monitoring is needed for the medication you may be prescribed.  Generally patients are seen more often as a newer patient.  As stability and improvement in symptoms develop, a longer period of time between appointments can be scheduled.

Do you treat addiction?

Having a psychiatric condition as well as addiction is known as a Dual Diagnosis.  It is vital that both of these conditions are treated simultaneously.  We can help treat the Psychiatric component of Dual Diagnosis patients.  A reputable addiction clinic can help with substance use.

What if I can't make my appointment?

We will send a text message a day before as well as 2 hours before your appointment time.  Please respond YES if you can make your appointment or NO to reschedule or cancel

How long are appointments?

Generally your first appointment will take about 60 to 90 minutes.  Follow-up appointments are usually 30 minutes.  We do not try to rush you in and out.  However, we do our best  to stick to your allotted time in order for other patients to start at their scheduled time.  

Do you treat pain, high blood pressure, diabetes, etc...?

Our clinic does not treat pain, high blood pressure, diabetes, etc....  We advise all patients to have a primary care doctor that can treat common medical conditions.  Our clinic is an ambulatory psychiatry clinic and only treat related disorders.

What if I am having a side effect to my medication?

If at any time you feel you are having a  reaction or unwanted side effect to a medication prescribed by this clinic call us as soon as you can.  If you are  experiencing an emergency call 911.
